Beginner road bike…..good buy? suggestions?

I am going to buy a road bike by the end of the week, and was wondering if there was anything in the 5 and under range that would be decent for starters……here is the one i was thinking about, based on reviews, and the price(i also get discount since i work there…lol) let me know what you think, or if there are any better ones for the money. What are some places in Asia that have decent road cycling and bike racing scenes?

I have heard that in some places, cyclists are not tolerated. I have also heard that some places have racing scenes where most riders are sketchy. I am moving there next summer and would like to check out as many places as I can in China, Japan, South Korea, etc., assuming that I’ll have to stay away from huge cities. Any advice on where to go would be appreciated. Thanks

How do I improve my cycling performance, I cycle an awards-winning classic road bike?

All my cycling buddies are dressed in cycling attire like professional cyclists (helmet, jersey, padded shorts, cleat/clipless shoes). I wear for training/competitions, helmets, long sleeves tee-shirts, bermuda/jogging shorts, jogging shoes)

Only manged to overtake them all during hill-climbing training. Many of them suggested that I wear clipless shoes to improve my cycling. One even suggested to wear padded cycling shorts

However, each time I won 1st or 2nd Runners-up I was wearing long sleeves Tee-shirt, jogging shorts, jogging shoes (never go up podium when I tried jersey and padded cycling shorts)
My butt hurts after cycling more than 10km with 1st padded cycling shorts. Thigh blistered after cycling more than 60km with 2nd padded cycling shorts.
Many/most people I spoke to fell because of clipless shoes trapped their landing legs, resulting in broken bones repeatedly. Personally withnessed many such falls

Best Road Bike Under $3,000?

I have been a road cyclist for over 4 years and recently decided to purchase my second road bike. I am willing to spend between ,000 up to ,000. My current bike is the 2003 Specialized Allez Elite Triple. It cost me ,199 after discount and taxes including Shimano clipless pedals. I am in my early 30s. I am 5′7" and almost 140lbs. My average mph is 16.8mph and have over 3,700 miles on my bike.

Usually my ride is roughly 20 miles. I go to the beach on my bike and ride back home after I sit on the bench while staring at women in bikinis for a bit. I am a relaxed rider and I never raced or do I ever want to race. I have been on saturday morning group rides that are organized by local bike shops. But I prefer riding by myself. I dont like climbing hills and I usually stay on flat bike paths.

I want a bike that will definitely be a significant improvement to my current bike. I also want a bike that will make my hobby more enjoyable.
